Tune in, Turn off...

Okay, so! Since I got a pretty decent response about the podcast idea, PhoneGirl and I are planning a TalkShoe live conversation this Sunday. More than likely in the late afternoon/evening (US Eastern Time).

Not sure about the details yet but it will be a live audio show that you can tune into on this site or PhoneGirl's site (or the TalkShoe site), call into from your phone/computer (I believe), and I'll be on the IM services and my email if you'd like to send me a message or question (also, if you have a question you want us to answer during the show, email one of us at sinsekret@gmail.com or phonesexlife@gmail.com). It'll be a short, introductory show to say hello, bring up some basics, give some advice, and see how everybody feels about it.

Quick Question...

Hey there, just wondering, would you guys tune in if I had a "Podcast".

Coal keeps bringing it up, saying it'd be a cool way to answer advice questions (which, by the way, I don't get enough of, please send em on in!), talk about current event issues, and maybe even read some erotica (that one's my idea), but I feel like nobody would really listen. Really, I think he's been listening to Love Line too much, but the idea does spark my interest.

Would you tune in for a Sin's Secret podcast?

Bye Bye Entrecard

No Top Droppers for this month, or any other month for that matter, because as it turns out Entrecard dropped me.

No idea why they suddenly decided that I was no longer "appropriate" for their "family friendly" site. I mean, I haven't posted any boobs lately, have I?

Either way, I am no longer able to access my account, so don't have my statistics or the nifty advertising opportunities.

• A possible new article series about porn! Am currently looking for a porn rental site (if you know of any, drop me a line), for a new group of articles/reviews about porn- for women who don't like porn (and the men/women who love/fuck them).
• More erotica for your personal enjoyment, if I can cough it up.

February should hopefully see some valentines day posts. Including sexy date ideas, what to have for dinner, and what toys, books, and videos you should have for bedtime. Hopefully February will also see the beginning and end of the series of posts I've been wanting to do about people in the sex industry. It seems like an appropriate time.

Sex in The News:: Revisited

I don't read or watch the news very often, but I like to skim through the sex-related articles every not and then to see whats up.

Of course, the news typically sucks...with all those silly anti-sex people running around. Which introduces our first story...

New Rule Hurts Women:

"Bush's Last Word; Imposition sets back reproductive rights"

So, it seems Bush finally decided to make morals part of science. Fucker. This new..."imposition" basically says that any doctor, nurse, or medical worker can refuse to do just about anything when it comes to reproductive health. In any federally funded health center/hospital, any worker has the right to refuse to participate in any (sexual health related) act or distribution of information without any punishments or reciprocation.

Don't "believe" in the morning after pill? You don't have to give it to your crying patient (even if she's a rape victim!). You don't even have to tell her it exists. If she asks for it, you can just say no, because it's what you "believe in".
Then, when that patient gets pregnant because you denied her basic information, you can refuse to give her an abortion (because it's what you "believe in"), forcing her to find help elsewhere.

Think contraception, condoms, and birth control pills encourage promiscuity? You don't have to prescribe a single box, bottle, or pack, even if they're requested by your patient.

For those of you reading who don't care so much about contraceptive rights, well, how about HIV/AIDS?
The list of "potentially objectionable" procedures could even include treatments for, and information about, HIV/AIDS.
And I'm sure there are lots of homophobes and anti-sex assholes that would love to deny those dying their treatment. Because, as we all know, AIDS only happens to "the gays", and they're on their way to hell anyways. *insert rolly-eyed face here*

It's going to take Obama for-fricking-ever to fix this crap. Let's hope he really takes the time to do it.

Saudi women's group assails judge over 8-year-old's marriage

This one's interesting. And sad.
An 8-yr-old in Saudi Arabia was given to her father's friend as a wife, essentially, as payment to settle debts. Women's Rights activists fought to get the marriage annulled, but the judge ruled (partially) in favor of the father.
The ruling forbids the husband from consemating the marriage until the girl reaches puberty, at which time the girl will be allowed to appeal for divorce.
As if the husband actually would keep his hands off his little prize for the next five or more years. Oh wait, maybe that's really 2 or 3 years? When's puberty in Saudi Arabia?

At least the judge did something a little positive, but its doubtful the ruling will do a damned thing to really help the girl. Poor thing.

But this shit happens all the time, and at least someone's fighting for the girl, even if they didn't get it quite this time. There's more on this story here, and here.

Because I am a Lazy Bitch...

Okay, so here's the deal.
I haven't made a post in at LEAST two weeks, and I'm really really sorry.

Not like any of you really care if I make a post today, tomorrow, or next month, but whatever. I should be more responsible and quit being lazy and write my stuff. I just should.

I have nothing to talk about tonight, so here's the deal. I'm just here to let you know that I am still alive and haven't forgotten about my little blip of the inter-webs.

*I finally got my Eden Fantasy's assignment toy last week, and am currently working on the review for it. It's my first authorized free-toy review, so I want it to be awesome. I'll let you know when that's up and give you a different spin on it.

*I haven't read any good sex books lately, mostly because I'm just sort of sexed out. I still love to talk about it, give advice, and learn about it, but reading about it takes too much damned effort.
I'm currently reading the fourth book in the fictional series Kushiel's Legacy, which is a series with a lot of sex in it (and its just plain fucking awesome), but no new memoirs or instructional books at the moment. Money's hopefully going to be better this semester, so maybe that'll change soon enough. A book on sensual massage would be good. Right?

*I haven't had a Position up in for-fucking-ever, so I'll try to get one up within the next two weeks. Summer's just been really really weird and busy and miserable, but maybe the fall will bring back a little bit of my libido.

*Did I ever mention that I think I figured out my orgasm problem? Well, I think I did. It's a little bit of a biological, physical mishap, and I'm hoping a good GYN will help me fix it. More on that another time.

*I'm currently looking for Guest Bloggers for Sin's Secret. With how busy I'm going to be this semester, I'd love to have a couple guests put in some input. An Appreciative Moment

I have no real entry or article or witty spout of words for you today, and I apologize, but I would like to mention blogger Stuck In My Head, and thank her (I'm pretty sure its a her >.<' ).

I found her blog Shouldn't Life Be More Than This after she put up a link to me in a post referencing blogs she'd read. Along with a link to my latest post about McCain she wrote a basic description and bit of opinion.
I don't normally mention blogs that link me, or I trade links with, but I wanted to point out how much I appreciate that she mentioned me in her blog. It's the first time anyone has (as far as I know), and I see it as an honor to be thought of and something of a milestone on my blogging journey.

Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Vibrator Gone...

Nowhere, actually; it's dead.
I need (want) a new one.

So So So So much. *sob*

It's not quite yet the kind of dead that means I can't use it anymore, but the kind that makes it a pain in the ass to use. I typically use my Strap On Dolphin Vibrator (without the straps; my clitoris is picky) for both single and couple play, and apparently I've used it far too much for it's own comfort. The wire is now fucked, and it shorts out every time unless I hold the cord a certain way (which is constantly changes). So it's really become impossible to use.
My trusty, wonderful, (cheap) little Bullet is a usual second choice, but unfortunately runs on watch batteries.
Watch Batteries = not available at the corner store + more expensive than the vibrator itself.
The other toys I own are virtually useless (I'm just too determined to have a full collection [and not waste money] to throw them away).
Thus, I am vibration-less.

It's really depressing because I have this weird little dream goal about having a whole collection of vibrators and lubricants and sex toys and novelties, but I've now broken my favorite one.
The sad part is I'm still unlikely to ever actually throw it away until it just completely stops turning on.

Sex Toy Reviews and The Mini Dolphin

Okay, so.
Recently I created an account with EdenFantasys.com. This is an online adult toy store (like Adam & Eve) that I just stumbled onto. I LOVE their stuff. I mean, I haven't bought anything from them yet, but everything just looks so COOL! I'm sure that sounds silly, but seriously, you have to just stop by and look at the main page (link right over there). The toys are so curvy and colorful and neat! The bad part is that I'm not allowed to post the reviews I do anywhere else outside of their site. But that's not a big deal, I've solved it.

When I do a review, I'll also write a short paragraph about the toy and post it here, along with the link to the on-site review over there. That way you get a summary here no matter what, and you can check out the full review (and the toy) over there, if you want to.

Interactives Mini dolphin

This is a simple strap on vibrator made specifically for hands-free play, as well as couples use. It's strong, waterproof, and fun to use. It's hard to keep in one place, but when you can get it where you want it, it works well.

For couple play, it's a bit big, and I've ended up with quite a few pubic bone bruises (I don't mind them, but I'm sure most of you might).

It's a great beginners idea for people who want to try out couples vibrators.

I gave it a four, though I probably should have given it a three, but that's okay. I've used it for the last seven months, and it's only now dying on me. I appreciate it and the pleasurable wonders its done for me. ^-^

Shakopee heeds parents' concerns on sex-ed course

Okay. No. There is no - and I mean NO- logical reason for kids not to learn about sex. Seriously. The time for sexual morality is OVER. Sex is biology. Sex is nature. Sex is going to happen whether we like it or not. Parents can't normally opt their kids out of Biology, or let them skip European History, so their friggin body's sexual DEVELOPMENT class should also be REQUIRED. There is no LOGICAL reason why it shouldn't. People should know their bodies, and that's that.
The fact that they're segregating the sex ed classes is just a laughable after thought for me. Separating boys and girls in a sixth grade class only perpetuates the idea that boys and girls are unequal and sex is something dirty and secret. And I think it's just silly.

Next.

Pharmacies Should Be Allowed To Refuse Contraception...

Nothing so wrong with this post. But it revealed the fact that some Pharmacies refuse to fill contraception orders. Wait, what? No, really, WHAT? Okay, what they say about upholding their own morals without pushing them on other people is great, really, but not filling contraceptions? Not holding condoms? What if they're the only Pharmacy in town? Ick. I don't like this. But yet...it's not all bad. I guess.

4. I haven't written anything of worth lately. I really do feel bad, I swear. But I'm back from my sad excuse for a "va-kay" and don't work again till Wednesday. So I have three days to force myself! And by force myself I mean be completely lazy until someone actually tells me I should do a new post so I feel like anyone cares. ....... .....

A Personal Message...

Currently Reading: Sleeping Around: Secrets of a Sexual Adventuress by Catherine Townsend

Reading the Sexual Memoirs I love so much, I've started feel a bit down. I feel sort of disconnected; like I'm trying to measure up to these writers but inevitably can't.
Not because they know more, or because they're older or more successful, but because of their infamously long "lists".

I, with my total of four sexual partners, cannot compete or compare with a published writer with more than fifty men under her belt. (Why I envy these women in the future post on Casual Sex and Promiscuity.)
And while W and I have talked about and considered considering bringing a third party into our sexual activities, we are both still nervous about the idea. And it's a bit hard to hope for our relationship to succeed when I envy those with more past lovers than me, and wish I were one of them.

I don't feel that quantity of experiences has a dramatic effect on quality of knowledge. I know what I need to know, what I want to know, and I try to know more to help myself and others. But here it doesn't matter what I think, it matters what you, the reader, think. So here I am, asking you myself.

I don't have loads of hilarious sexcapades to share with you, nor sexual wisdom gained over years of trial and error.
What I do have is my ideas. My opinions. My knowledge; gained through limited experience, extensive reading, late night conversations, and occasional research. My body; the way it feels and behaves. My life; the few experiences I have had, as well as those of my closest friends, lovers, and strangers.

I can't always be funny, and I can't always be smart, but I will always try to be both and more.
